Above the tree the face is quite blank. Standing in the highest branches, it is just possible to reach a diagonal crack. This crack affords a good placement. Once set, aid begins with a solid belay from below.

Sorting the gear at the end of each climb was always a little time consuming. Each climber had his favorite pitons, and wanted them safely in hand. Some used spray paint. Some painted their initials.
