Owner

Stephane is a photographer living in Corsica who collects nuts and cams.

Stephane has assembled a comprehensive collection at Nuts Museum. He has writen an article on the development of nuts at nutsstory and an article on the development of cams at camsstory. I highly recommend these articles. They document the gradual application of modern engineering to the simple idea of jamming a pebble in a crack and hanging from it.

The newer cams have dozens of precisely engineered parts. They are a polished and coloful pieces of art, a far cry from the various early efforts. Margaret Young used connectors from airplane hydraulic systems in Yosemite in the 1960's. I have heard someone finished a climb by mashing up the tuna can from lunch. What will come next?
